I Spy… God at Work

Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done.
Sing to him, sing praise to him;
tell of all his wonderful acts.
Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek his face always.
Psalm 105:1-4, NIV*

I dreamed I had a really bad day. I’d been out of sorts through it all, and things kept going wrong.

In my dream, I suddenly noticed the good things that had threaded through the day. They’d been there all along and I’d been too grumpy to notice.

When I woke, the last bit I remembered was telling a friend “God was blessing me all day, despite the bad stuff.”

And I’d almost missed seeing the blessings.

Years ago I tried something called a “God hunt,” where the idea was to keep alert for sightings of God’s presence in the day. Once you start looking, it’s amazing what you see. We stopped talking about it at church, and I forgot to keep it up. I think it’s time to start again. Anyone want to play too?

God, You are good. Your presence satisfies. Forgive me for all the times I get caught up in the negatives and miss what You’re doing. Open my spirit to recognize Your touch in my day and to embrace You. Thank You for loving me.

Our song this week is “Open the Eyes of My Heart,” sung here by Michael W. Smith.

    I love that idea! Sometimes I try to do that, but making it a game would make you much more aware of constantly making an effort to see Him. Because He really is constantly involved in our day and blessing us will little blessings and gifts of love, if would just look! Thank you for reminding me!

    I love that verse too. We are supposed to see God, but also to talk about what He has done. And that is what you are doing!

    Thanks for giving me a positive focus today! Love, Jenny

    You know what yesterday I was talking with a youth leader and she is struggling in her life. Not spiritually but in her finances. We are both in this crucial situation. My boss is delayed on sending me my salary. I have bills to pay and ofcourse I need money to buy some basic needs.

    We are both struggling and the funny thing is not this all started when we declared a prayer and fasting for our youth group. So basically satan is doing everything just to make us spiritually weak.

    With all those struggles in life, what we need to do is always to look on the brighter side. God is truly our strength is He did not let me fall. He reminded me of His plans for my life.

    In short life must go on.. Because the bible tells us that every trials is given to us based from our capacity. And as Job says in JOB 23:10, “When He has tested me, I will come forth as gold”.

    We don’t have any choice but to stay strong with God! 🙂

    Jenny, it’s amazing to think of how God gives us so many little blessings, and that they’re gifts of love. Thanks for putting it that way — it’s all about His love.

    Edwin, so many times that’s what happens, we as God to take us deeper and part of how He does that is to let some attacks come. Hold tight to Him, and may you and the other leader come forth as gold refined. I wonder what amazing thing He wants to do in your youth group once this time is complete.

    I’m praying for each of you, that you’ll see God’s fingerprints on your day and be encouraged in your spirits.
